Free Sunday School Lesson for KindergartenBible School Lesson About the Creation Story with Adam and Eve
Sunday School Teachers can use this Creation Story Sunday School lesson to share the wonders of God's Creation and His mercy with kindergarten-aged Sunday School classes.
This Sunday School Lesson is based on the Creation Story in Genesis 2:15-17 and Genesis 3. The theme of this lesson is: “Even when we break the rules, God still loves us and cares for us.” As learners arrive, the Sunday School teacher can ask them to create simple flowers using pre-cut construction paper flower shapes, leaf shapes, and craft sticks. The children can be asked to hold up their flowers to make a “garden.” The flowers can also be glued to a simple background made from two pieces of construction paper (one blue for the sky and one green for the grass). Sunday School Teachers Can Begin the Creation Lesson by Telling the Creation StoryAfter greeting the children and introducing the Creation Lesson, Sunday School teachers can take the following steps:
Sunday School Teachers Can Continue the Creation Lesson with a Themed ActivitySunday School teachers can help their students make puppets using brown paper lunch bags and markers or crayons. To make puppets, Sunday School students can draw a mouth on the top and bottom edges of the bottom of the bag, so that when the hand is inside the puppet the puppet will appear to speak. Sunday School techers may encourage the learners to keep puppets simple, providing just eyes, nose and mouth, some lines for hair, and perhaps some decorations for a shirt. When the puppets are complete, Sunday School teachers can ask the learners to think of a time when they broke a rule, and give students the opportunity to act out that time if they want to. Sunday School teachers can now spend some time talking about how it feels to break a rule and why sometimes it is so easy to break rules. Sunday School teachers may emphasize that all people break rules, including adults. Sunday School teachers can remind learners that they are loved no matter what rules they break. Sunday School teachers can now remind the learners of the part of the Genesis story where God gave the man and woman clothes before they leave the garden, and let the children discuss the story (if they want to) so they can better understand it and relate it to their own lives. Sunday School Teachers Can End the Creation Lesson With Sharing TimeSunday School teachers should gather the children in a circle and have them sit on the floor for sharing time. Teachers can remind the learners of what they did in Sunday School today (heard the story of Adam and Eve leaving the garden, made puppets and shared a time when they broke the rules) and ask them to share what part of the lesson they liked best and why they liked that part best. Sunday School teachers may wish to go around the circle to ensure everyone has a turn to speak. The Sunday School lesson may end with a prayer, like, "Dear loving God, our heavenly father, Thank you for always loving us and always taking care of us, even when we make mistakes. Amen." Sunday School teachers should remember throughout this lesson that the theme is about God's care for everyone, all the time. No one goes unloved, no one goes unforgiven, God loves every being that He created. The Sunday School teacher's goal is to have Sunday School students leaving class feeling comforted and loved by their heavenly Father.
