If you are looking for an effective way to connect nature to learning about Creation for kids, this eBook has it all. It includes puzzles, games, and interesting facts.

Author, Tammie Burak, got her inspiration for this eBook when she was looking for curriculum for her own children, but could not find what she was looking for. She wanted to teach them that exploring the outdoors is how you find out information about Creation.

In fact, Tammie was in the midst of writing one of her nature columns for Creation Corner for Kids, and got the idea to combine her writing and hands-on experience with wildlife into a fun and exciting Creation curriculum for kids. Thus was born Creatures of the Boreal Forest, which is available in eBook format, as well as print copy. It is an in-depth look at Creation through the study of nature and some really interesting animals that make the Boreal Forest their home. The Boreal Forest spans parts of North America and Eurasia.

A Unique Creation Curriculum

Suite: How is this curriculum unique from other Creation curriculums available to kids?

Tammie: What's unique about this book is that it combines a Christian perspective with nature study, character development, and environmental issues. In addition, the book is divided into four units, each with a full range of activities and learning exercises across the curriculum. Each unit begins with a thought-provoking devotional and a Bible study, followed by a reading section which provides information about the animal.

The curriculum sections have lessons and exercises in language, math, science, environment, outdoor activities, and crafts. Creatures of the Boreal Forest includes studies on the Common Muskrat, White-tailed Deer, Black-capped Chickadee, and Bumblebee.

How Kids Will Benefit from the Curriculum

Suite: Who will benefit from using this curriculum?

Tammie: Christian families (especially homeschoolers), teachers, children's leaders at church and Bible camp, and anyone who wants to get kids excited about learning about nature from a Christian viewpoint will benefit from this series. Teachers will like that the worksheets, word puzzles, graphs and charts are all reproducible. Some kids will enjoy working on it for fun. My daughter loves to pick up the book in her leisure time, read through a section or two, and complete the related exercises. She also loves doing the word puzzles and crafts, too.

New Curriculum on the Horizon

Suite: Do you have any other curricula on the horizon?

Tammie: This eBook is the first in a series of studies of the North American ecoregions. Creatures of the Seacoast is coming soon.

About the Author

Tammie Burak was an elementary school teacher before she began homeschooling her children. She has a passion for creating lessons for children that are fun and exciting. She has used her lesson-making skills as a teacher to put together Creatures of the Boreal Forest, and hopes that many will enjoy the hands-on curriculum.

The eBook is available for sale at PayLoadz.com in eBook format, as well as at selected Christian bookstores, where it is in a print format. Tammie is working hard to get the curriculum listed in a few homeschool catalogs, too.

Creatures of the Boreal Forest is a comprehensive homeschool curriculum that gets kids excited about learning about Creation. It is mostly suited for children between 3rd to 5th grade, and includes lots of useful information combined with detailed worksheets and activities. There does not appear to be another curriculum like it available on the market today. It is definitely a good find.
